First day watching my feeders for the Feeder Watch. The feeders have only been up for 1 week and birds have been slow in finding them. A hairy and pileated woodpecker just zoomed in for a taste of the suet. Also black capped chickadees, one spotted towhee and 5 juncos have found the seed feeder. I am still bringing the feeders in at dusk hoping that the bear/s are beginning their long winter naps.

I was excited to see my first RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD. Yes, Spring is here. All of the birds are very active – Many Dark-eyed Juncos, Downy Woodpecker, 2-Hairy Woodpeckers, and 3-Pileated , and 2-Northern Flickers. The Sparrows are all active as well. I now have a Fox Sparrow for the first time.
